Power of Attorney Required Documents 

There are some important requirements for Power of Attorney for property in Pakistan. The applicants, grantor, and agent are required to provide these documents:

  1. Original application form of Power of Attorney or Mukhtar Nama. 
  2. Attested application form from notary public or judge
  3. Original CNICs of both donor and agent
  4. Two passport-size pictures  of each person
  5. Paid processing slip of fee

Requirements for Digital POA

  1. The current owner NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) is important
  2. Valid non-expired CNIC
  3. Copies of the grantor’s passport
  4. Email Address
  5. Postal address
  6. The current owner's biometrics
  7. 2 witnesses’ biometrics
  8. Scanned copy of thumb impressions of grantor and witnesses
  9. For attestation of POA, the principal is requested to visit the Pakistani embassy/consulate in person.

Registration Fee for Power of Attorney in Pakistan

As we know getting a Power of Attorney (POA) document depends on some points. For example, like there is no fee for POA if the agent is the blood relation of the donor. However, the value of the property determines the registration fee. The 1% of the value of the property is the registration fee for Power of Attorney for property in Pakistan. And, there is a 2% tax on the registration fee as well. It should be noted here that, the Mukhtar Nama is to be printed on stamp paper of Rs.500 to Rs. 5,000.

Power of Attorney and Overseas Pakistanis

The government of Pakistan has enabled overseas to grant Mukhtar Nama from their residing country without even visiting Pakistan.
